Intro

Visalaw.Ai GEN is an innovative AI legal assistant for immigration lawyers. The product is designed to simplify and centralize knowledge management and learning for immigration lawyers by creating unconventional legal research skills or 'modes' as we call them. By harnessing the power of Generative AI and LLMs, GEN offers a range of features that will create a unique competitive advantage for a law firm practitioner. 

Key Features

There are currently four key 'modes' in GEN: Legal Research, Document Q&A, Summarize, and PrivateGPT.

1. Legal Research

Our flagship offering. GEN can quickly answer immigration-specific questions or queries. Run comparisons, ask for specifics related to a case with nuanced eligibility criteria, and request templates or examples.  See the non-exhausted list of use cases here.  GEN’s growing dataset will continue improving how you learn and discover insight.  The critical component for GEN is the ability to cite verified sources of content provided by AILA and other reputable publishers.

Law Library // Categories

Users will be able to filter and search cross-sections of available content quickly. This way, users can search only Primary Law, AILA content, or a specific publication relevant to their query.

Sources // Links

Source citations will be provided for every response from GEN, and users can click through to see the complete resource via a custom-view window.

2. Document Q&A

A key component of GEN's value is the ability for firms to create their own Knowledge Management database that can be queried using the connected LLM. Users can upload their content in a growing number of formats. In association with searchable documents, users can also create unique prompts that generate the response or output users are hoping for.

Personal Document Library

Another feature in PrivateGPT is the ability to upload content and documents to query within GEN.  Users can upload their propriety content and resources to a folder for personal use or share with the entire organization for shared access.  

3. Document Summarization

GEN assists in generating summaries of complex legal documents and other information that may prove time-consuming to read or digest.   Documents can be summarized into three varied levels of complexity depending on the document and the user's needs.  A key feature on the GEN roadmap is providing users with immigration-specific summarization prompts. 

4. PrivateGPT

As a helpful add-on to GEN, Visalaw.Ai offers PrivateGPT, a generalized chat experience connected to GPT-4.  Users can ask non-immigration-related questions and have the tool generate text or content.  Users can adjust the prompt and other custom settings to receive the desired output.  A key component of PrivateGPT is the focus on data security and privacy.  Users can access a large language model while knowing their information will not be shared or used to train other models. 

Prompt Template Library

Users also can save and share prompts that they find helpful.  The Visalaw.Ai team will also maintain a folder for users to share some of our favorite and most useful prompt template configurations.  A significant focus of the Visalaw team is to foster a community of like-minded individuals open to sharing examples and tips with the rest of the GEN user base.
